Immerse & indulge in the city this winter!

Believe it or not, they trusted me to write another one of these, so here we go again! We’re coming off of an exciting, fun-filled holiday season, filled with experiences that got us up and out of our cozy warm houses and onto the streets of our beautiful city.  Now that we’re knee-deep into Winter, we figured it’s about time to really dive into some of Detroit’s insider businesses and organizations.

February’s specialty tours kick off with a deep-dive into Detroit’s sweet side with our Sweets & Treats bus tour, featuring Good Cakes & Bakes, the birthplace of the very devourable, Lemon Gooey Cake. If that’s not sweet enough for you, believe me, we’ve got an arsenal of other decadent treats on this tour that will be sure to cure your sweet tooth.

Now, I’ve been known to indulge in a cold beverage or two on occasion, so please don’t judge me for being even more excited for our Black-Owned Bars tour! The bars we have lined up are truly eclectic and host some of the most fun nightlife atmospheres to immerse yourself in. This is in honor of Black History Month, but really, Detroit is black and beautiful every month, so keep your eyes peeled for plenty more tours inspired by Detroit’s black residents and small business owners.

You might be wondering to yourself, “this guy is talking about all of these fun experiences in Detroit, I wonder where he spends the most time in the city?” Well, the answer is the ever-changing New Center neighborhood. Of course, that’s mostly due to the fact that the DXF offices are there, but it still hosts some of my favorite spots in the city and it’s home to Detroit’s largest art object! Come join us for a walking tour there and snag a beverage at Northern Lights Lounge afterwards. Who knows, you might even run into me there!

I imagine that many folks reading this will have already been on one of our Art & Architecture walking tours, being that it’s the gateway drug to our other tours and experiences. If you’ve somehow skipped that one, it’s honestly the best inspiration for getting out and walking in the winter. There’s really nothing like taking shelter from the cold city wind inside of a 1920’s Art Deco masterpiece.

With that, I bid you adieu and hope to see you out on the tour trail soon!
